My Blog Debut

Hello World! I have finally decided to make my blogger debut! So here goes…..

First of all, thanks for visiting my new site! I have seriously been thinking about starting something like this for years and finally got the courage to just go for it a couple of months ago. I wanted to start things off by giving you guys a little back story about me.

I have always been a creative person. I was completely obsessed with music, dance and performing as a child and constantly looked for audience. In high school, I generated a love for creating beautiful spaces and even asked for a sewing machine for Christmas where I proceeded to DIY a whole new bedroom. The sewing part was short lived, but the decorating part has never left me. I love the whole process. Finding inspiration, researching the style and feeling I’m trying to achieve, shopping and finding all the pieces and then putting them all together.

When I made it to college something in me was too scared to follow my passions in the creative realm so I went for a more practical business and marketing degree which I have never really put to good use (shows how practical that decision was, oops!). Don’t get me wrong, college was a blast and I was successful in my classes and purpose there, but, looking back, I wish I would have had the courage to go after what I really love. The older I get the more I realize how creativity keeps my soul fed, along with my faith and my family.

My plan for Absolutely Alex is to share the projects, big and small, that I am constantly doing around my house or helping friends with, a little about my life and family, and, of course, some beauty because I am a sucker for a good product. I hope some will read and relate, be inspired, or possibly be entertained by my sometimes crazy life. Or, Maybe no on will but my mom, husband and sisters (love you guys!). Either way, I am so excited to have this creative outlet to share some of me to the world.
